nobody’s gonna steal your, my or even their own ideas. it takes a part of someone’s soul to convert the idea into reality. if any of us have just been “sitting” on an idea, we deserve to get it stolen - much better for this world.

That's true! But I think the Winklevoss brothers would disagree with you😅 It is amazing that the fact of stealing ideas (even if not proven) is associated with one of the greatest companies. The biggest fear of noob startup builder came true

Winklevoss brothers' idea wasn't even original. There were multiple sns for college campus before, during, and after facebook.

I think it's a moot point, because yes, the idea wasn't even original, but they gave him their code (he didn't take it as a basis), explained their ideas , pointed out the problem they want to solve and wanted to see him as a partner. So for the brothers, the whole story can absolutely be interpreted as theft.

idk the facts of the inside story, but i guess it depends on legality and what they signed. if they were truly competent they could have started after facebook and still beat them tbh.

The big question here, from my view, is if they hadn't ‘hired’ Mark and asked him to write the code and tell the idea, would he have built Facebook? And if they had asked Mark to sign an NDA, as you did with the professor, couldn't things have happened differently? So maybe better to look silly and ask for NDA
