i was wondering why Polymarket website hasn't worked for me lately. apparently my government blocked it because it's gambling and they don't have a license. wtf

don’t know how it is in Poland, but in Netherlands the gov has a monopoly on gambling - so casino’s etc are state run. but can still access Polymarket - thinking of it, I have never seen Dutch gov blocking any sites, never had any issues with anything. I’m also wondering how they do the blocking in Poland, where is it blocked? is it provider level? if it’s provider level you might want to change your ISP.

ministry shares a list of blocked domains and Polymarket is there. so imagine every ISP needs to comply. I have VPN so I don't care but it means that even participating in Polymarket can end up with a big fine

I know ISPs in the Netherlands have historically had strong resistance to blocking injunctions, I’m with an ISP called Freedom that is particularly known for that, so that’s why I asked if it would be an option to change ISP I’ve done some research. I found the only stuff that is blocked here has to do with copyright infringement - blocking of specific websites known for facilitating piracy. but it’s a voluntary agreement made with an anti-piracy group. don’t think my ISP signed it though. (but also can’t find it hasn’t)
