something i’ve observed anecdotally and loosely validated qualitatively is that someone’s reply:quotecast ratio when contributing to a conversation correlates to their ego (how they see themselves vs the rest of the community). not always a bad thing, but i’ll leave it at that.

study people who reply > quotecast

i think quote casting is one way to add reach but i do prefer replying and recasting. 

of course there are times it’s not really necessary to quote cast
