probably because 1) people use their phones for longer (no visible improvement in new models like iphone 3GS - 7, and phones are simply better) 2) adoption rate is already high also QoQ sales look pretty stable for the last 4 years

Exactly this. Also incentives from providers have gotten worse over the years so there’s even less incentive to upgrade.
