It was a bit confusing how the interface suddenly changes with a timer above it at first but I figured it out soon. What is the purpose of the timer if I may ask?

Well that is AMAZING and it certainly worked on me even without knowing it! I was spitting out my feelings and challenges to Anky lolol

there are two timers: one that goes "against time" (a 8 second countdown) and one that goes "towards time" (a 8 minute challenge)

the purpose of the first one is to trigger you to write without thinking so that you can explore who you are by observing what comes out

the purpose of the second one is to develop a daily practice with a known constraint that allows the mind to not feel overwhelmed
