I want to try something new with the pinned cast in /success: encouraging more long form discussion. Read the question below and answer thoughtfully. Let’s spark some real conversations here! There has been a lot of FUD recently about past failure and what that means for future success. With this in mind—what is the most important failure you’ve experienced in life and how did it shape the person you are today? For me, it was losing everything to drug addiction and the criminal justice system. My career, my health, my youth. But through that struggle, I learned to be a much stronger person—much more capable to take on the challenges of life. I wouldn’t change anything as all of it helped shape the person I am today. What about you?

late to this thread @maretus Lots of them to list tbh. So heres one. I had a thriving Historical Restoration business in NYC, jobs lined up for the next 2 years… then 9-11 went down. Watched the second plane hit from the roof of my workshop. After that suffered from severe ptsd and couldn’t hold my business or my sanity together tbh. Had to leave my dreams behind and rebuild upstate. It took about a year to get the voices out of my head calling myself a failure. Because I realized trying and not succeeding is not failure at all, it’s how we get to where we want to be.
