Excerpt from the legendary “Desert Dreams” Released in 1993. May not look very impressive today, but it runs on an Amiga 500+, in real time, with a 7.14Mhz CPU and 1Mb of RAM. The music still rocks! 🤘

Love it Yatima, I remember the more with less era. My buddy Vapourspace (an early techno OG) did his first album with very little computing power an Akai s900 ,multiple keyboards and drum machines sequenced

How cool is that? 🤘 The best thing about that era is that people squeezed the hardware they had to the limit. Even big fishes like Madonna used these machines in their live shows, specifically Atari STs, which were very good with MIDI afaik. 🖤

Started out myself using a tascam 4 track. With f’ing cassette tapes. Bouncing tracks you could get to 8 or 12 without to much fidelity loss. Also did my fair share of sequencing. The hardware was key and where all the power was. MIDI in itself is not memory intensive. I even used digital performer once it started to come of age. Functionally it was basically a powerful sequencer that recorded as well.

Damn, that's cool. Do you have any of those recordings by any chance? I've always liked the world of sound, although it's not my thing. That's why I envy all my musician friends so much, hehe. 🤘
