Guys I think I am retiring my brain from the 24hr podcast cycle. TW: death of a parent. Since 2018 when my mom died, I’ve listened to a near constant stream of podcasts, initially to drown out my thoughts. Even when my mental health improved drastically, I found it hard to divorce myself from the habit of having constant background/foreground chatter. I’ve learned so much (mostly useless) information over the last 7 years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have zero regret. I’m just ready to move on. I’m thus formally announcing my intention to listen to more music and fewer podcasts on the day-to-day. Comment your favorite artists below (I don’t like sad or slow music).

I do the same thing. Constant background noise. It’s either a podcast or LoFi or both. I’d recommend just trying LoFi, specifically ChillHop’s channel on YouTube. I find any songs with lyrics can distract me from my work but LoFi fills the space without distracting. Good luck!
