Devil's Advocate 🙋 They only reference 1 study at pro-charter and the other study reference was just about funding. Also Reason is a known libertarian publication so they'll want to skew things to discredit public education. US Parents need to perform due diligence for what's best for their kid; one doesn't fit all

Agreed. This is a terrible study since most public schools have infrastructure decades or more old compared to new infrastructure of charter schools. On top of that kids that go to charters in general have more engaged parents. You have to compare charters to PS’s that don’t have a charter near by.

right so isn’t that an indication that decades old infra has negative impact on our kids outcomes? isn’t there something to learn from this so that we can keep building, growing & progressing? learning new things is pointless if knowledge is not applied

I think we’d be hard pressed to find anyone that thinks old infra helps student learn better. But that has nothing to do with PS vs Charters. Pro- “choice” people (the irony isn’t lost on me) are claiming the education is better when it isn’t.
