Trying to properly count calories for the first time in my life. Calories In is hard as ever but Calories Out has really improved. Whoop is solid for daily estimates and the occasional Dexa scan calibrates it accurately. My basal rate is ~1500. Sloth day ~1700. No exercise but active 1800. Workout makes it 1900-2100.

I did this for years and then realized once I changed my diet to focus on netting blood sugar spikes I no longer needed to worry about Calories. Technically, calories in/out is a myth since it almost never accounts for the *type* of calorie. Have you checked out "Glucose Goddess"?

Been on CGMs for a year. I’m prediabetic. I got glucose/A1c under control first before focusing on net calories. It’s not a myth. It’s just too tedious to do right but weight management is the boss battle. Other levers fail to manage metabolism past a point.
