+1 but imo too many think of NFTs as stickers and CPGs More bullish on sticking to a single collection

and even fewer as an investment in an artist's body of work, and their commitment to it. we've got a long way to go, but so many use cases (for art and non-art as well)

be cool to see artists experiment & dedicate all effort to one collection of their own, instead of say using SuperRare's contract

What would be a good platform to launch them on? I have a photo series I'd like to drop.

probably Highlight or Manifold, I think you get your own contract (cc @emodi) Maybe Zora has that too

What's your take on chain? I want to make my art more easily attainable but at the same time if most people have funds on ETH and don't want to take the time bridging to Polygon or Arbitrum then is it even worth minting on those chains yet?

Do manifold on Ethereum for sure. Widest-adopted and best supported. I’ve got work on the OpenSea shared storefront, the Foundation (retired) shared contract, and some manifold contracts

You can also used thirdweb. But w manifold or thirdweb you have an options of using L2s but there's not enough activity so if I were to try something out I'd go for arb1.

Gotcha, thanks. Seems like it has the most volume by far but still hesitant to launch a photo series there.

I'm curious, what's your main concern for hesitation?

Polygon was the clear L2 winner over the last 2 years and a lot of artists were minting there, then Solana had a spin at NFT winner and now it's moving towards Arbitrum. Just worried about minting somewhere that people end up leaving and then having stuff lost over there.

https://l2beat.com/scaling/tvl is a great resource. If you are wanting longevity then issuing them on the mainnet aka Ethereum L1 is the way. I've done the same w some of my photos or really personally valuable stuff. The gas is really low right now so you are not using much money there.

But again if you re selling for cheaper prices then the gas will affect it in the future. But you are basically securing it there forever so if your main concern is people leaving and your work not having longevity then go with Ethereum mainnet while the fees are low.

Okay, technically polygon PoS is not a layer2, it's a sidechain. It will become a layer2 once they'll bridge it to zkEVM chain. Solana is a VC backed chain and again is sacrificing the decentralization. Arb1 is an actual and the most adopted Ethereum Layer 2 right now. There's still many ways to go tho
