It also feels really weird to be so present on a network going through such an eb and flow of finding its first cohort of 1M sticky users. There was never a period of time when I first started using social media apps (FB, Twitter, IG) where there wasn't an endless sea of people to tap in with. FC is in this weird place where a lot of people came, tried it a few times, and then left. Usage feels extremely correlated to the price of the biggest tokens that stemmed out of the network and it creates this weird feeling like it's empty when in reality its not. Hard to describe in words but there's a psychological impact on engagement rn that feels tough to break out of.

I remember when we were producing shows in Austin TX in the early nineties right in the early days of SXSW. Half of downtown was still vacant, but we would have streaks of a week or 10 days where we could do no wrong. New band called Sublime, why not. This guitar player named Chris Thomas King, sure. Black Uhuru passing thru on an off night, OK! Then nothing for 2 weeks. I have looked over Farcaster and all the different levels, and it is pretty much the same thing. There is an incredible wealth of talent and very small networks bubbling under the surface. So it is the early days, and ultimately, time will tell for sure, but for now, it is all about mindset, creativity, fundamentals, and patience. 7 years from now, it will seem a bit of a daze, but it will be remembered as the time of your life.
