I'm really proud that ethereum does not have any culture of trying to prevent people from speaking their minds, even when they have very negative feelings toward major things in the protocol or ecosystem.

Some wave the ideal of "open discourse" as a flag, some take it seriously.

This is true. I’ve written and spoken a lot on the tribal nature of crypto/web3, but it’s rarely Ethereum folk.

Good stuff in there. Love the appearance of “thought-terminating cliches” and believe it’s redundant because all cliches terminate thought. We also call a cliche “received wisdom” implying passivity. 

Hard to strike that balance between feeling part of something and being a dickish gatekeeper. 😜
