Hey everyone, I just built WalletRoulette with Noé, my cofounder. We try to be the faster way to connect with web3 folks. You connect your wallet, match with someone, get insights about their on-chain activity and chat! We'll iterate fast on this, would love to get feedback! https://walletroulette.xyz/

yes! we are using XMTP (a decentralized messaging protocol) - first signature: create your "XMTP profile" - second signature: open your XMTP session - third signature: we make sure it's your wallet I know it's a bad UX and I'm sorry about it! We'll make it smoother asap

FYI this is only for the first use. Every use after that is just a single signature. One idea might be to have folks "sign up" ahead of time, which would enable their identities before the actual event time. Then you front-load all of that. We're also working on ways to reduce the onboarding steps too.

@mg that's true! I see 2 things that would make our life easier: 1/ let third party tools "use" one of your signatures to validate the identity of the person on our servers (is it something that is already / could be possible?) 2/ don't ask for a signature at each session (even if I understand the security trade off)

Ultimately since we’re dealing with keys here for the end to end encryption, it’s a bit harder. Not really something we want to compromise on at all. Having said that, we are working on multiple things to improve this which would make for a far more seamless experience. Would love to figure out options with you!

I'd love to! Oh and also, we never managed to create a cool UX on mobile. Wallets (Metamask, Rainbow) seem to be lost with double signature - they handle the first and then nothing works. The only workaround we found was to ask people to use our website within the Metamask browser ... which is really bad haha!
