Anon vs Doxxed in crypto? 🤔 In an era of advanced AI deep fakes and voice cloning, how certain can we be about anyone's identity online? Visual or audio verification is becoming increasingly unreliable. Perhaps robust security protocols like mandatory audits and multi-signature wallets provide more tangible trust? Code doesn't lie; rigorous processes create real barriers against theft. History shows us publicly known founders (think SBF) have led massive frauds. Being 'doxxed' offered zero protection then. Let's value operational transparency & verifiable safeguards over just a face.

Operational transparency & verifiable safeguards - exactly why the sentiment around Clanker is still strong. The question may not be Anon vs Doxxed - but why not Anon & Doxxed? ZK and SSI have been sitting in the background as the answer for a while - now the necessity is here for them to be rolled out on a larger scale. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2214212623002624

Faces can lie, signatures can’t. Verifiability > visibility.

I'm not going to go with one vs the other, but say that both are needed. As for doxxed founders offering protection? Well.. SBF is serving 25 1) Projects *should* be structured in a way that limits malfeasance. Using multi-sig and/or locking up assets in clear structured ways that serve the project's goals/direction/stated structure. Ofc you'll need certain assets/funds that are accessible and easy to deploy for certain fees/expenses, but that's baked into the structure. 2) Just b/c people can make AI Deep fakes & clone voices doesn't mean that a doxxed founder is without value. Sure, in a single or isolated # of contact points, this can be faked, but over the longer term growth of a project, it adds credibility if the person weaves in IRL events, public speaking, etc that matches up with that which has been shared online. Trust isn't something that happens instantly, it's built over time, & a trusted long term founder who shows up, vs an anon/non-doxxed PFP does/will come across differently over time.
