From what I’ve observed over the years, it stems mainly from many (most?) founders in this space are not effective CEOs when it comes to scaling and have this misplaced notion that you should continuously be shipping. This improves product and shipping is essentially marketing, or so they think.

Being a CEO is exactly that — a “chief executive.” They need to motivate and inspire staff internally, their end-users, and their partners. They need to always be on. 

It’s not an easy job, but it really shows when you use one strength as a crutch to mask deficiencies in the other areas.

A company with a relatively high valuation not having any staff in a basic functional area like marketing is 🤯 to me. Who is treating the data you’re receiving into INSIGHTS? Again, blows my mind.

Dude... every web3 job listing is for a full stack developer.

And then we wonder why the success of a cool new app rests only on how powerful week 1 FOMO is. 🙃

It's almost like they need people who are good at talking about their product in the community...
