Building means getting people to believe in your vision. That could be internally within a team, externally via a product or even more broadly through partnerships and wider GTM strategy. It's way less about you - way more about effectively communicating why your vision is important and why people should care.

Which is why web3 founders need to devote some of their budget to PR, marketing, and community management. πŸ˜‰

Dude... every web3 job listing is for a full stack developer. And then we wonder why the success of a cool new app rests only on how powerful week 1 FOMO is. πŸ™ƒ It's almost like they need people who are good at talking about their product in the community...

From what I’ve observed over the years, it stems mainly from many (most?) founders in this space are not effective CEOs when it comes to scaling and have this misplaced notion that you should continuously be shipping. This improves product and shipping is essentially marketing, or so they think. Being a CEO is exactly that β€” a β€œchief executive.” They need to motivate and inspire staff internally, their end-users, and their partners. They need to always be on. It’s not an easy job, but it really shows when you use one strength as a crutch to mask deficiencies in the other areas. A company with a relatively high valuation not having any staff in a basic functional area like marketing is 🀯 to me. Who is treating the data you’re receiving into INSIGHTS? Again, blows my mind.
