Altered Carbon S1 was great -- pure cyberpunk, full of classic tropes, quite pulpy and noir. Lots of fun ideas and a fast moving plot, nothing too deep, just satisfyingly mid storytelling. Production is a little soap-opera-y, compared to say a Westworld, but it works with the weird  oversaturated vibes.

S2 was not bad, felt a lot less cyberpunk lone wolf detective solving a murder and a lot more like starwars bigger planet-scale political story, which wasn't as satisfying. Also felt like anime-style storytelling (which is there in S1 too), not surprising that they made an anime movie too.
