The Situational Awareness website should be read by any policymakers, NOW.

Takes I share:
→ If we're serious about it, AGI should have its own Manhattan project starting NOW run by a country or group of countries/entities that deeply care about democracy, freedom, etc.
→ AGI will come faster than what people think.
→ It can bring the best like the worst things to humanity.
→ We don't need to reach it before it has drastic consequences on people’s lives and jobs (it has already started).
→ There are 2 big dangers: nonalignment & having authoritarian or terrorist groups own it.
→ At the moment, it can algorithmically improve itself; we'll have a very, very short window to get alignment.
→ Research and training should be under the highest security standards to prevent leaks.
→ The 1st country or group to reach AGI will decide the course of humanity.
→ Hence, it’s a matter of the highest security defense topic.
→ AGI should be placed above the nuclear threat.
