Why L1s become L2s (check Kydo's article https://x.com/0xkydo/status/1906050837186584983) mirrors why lending protocols switch to Morpho. TLDR Less operational, development & bootstrapping cost. At the same time, Morpho will become the base layer for onchain loans, offering security, efficiency & liquidity as a service. @seamless is a vgood example: they were spending $30k/m + human resources to maintain their Aave v3 fork. Now they're switching to Morpho Stack to cut that cost & focus on what matters. They're joining @sparkdotfi @moonwell Compound Indexcoop etc for those reasons.

Today, I'm sharing Nicolas Colin's takes on the European startup landscape, which I think are enlightening and that we, as Europeans, should be lucid about. I hope they'll get more visibility. Nicolas is a former co-founder of The Family (a famous French accelerator that went to a halt). Even though it's closed now, I think they've been pushing many ambitious young people to build stuff. I believe @alexmasmej.eth can relate. So here's the recap: 1. Europe is falling behind on every metric VS the US. 2. European companies should follow their own playbook and not follow Silicon Valley's one that isn't working here. 3. What Europeans should be building: "building profitable tech companies with a multinational footprint that happen to be headquartered in Europe" with the goal of maximizing Europe's ROIC. 4. How? By developing "a unique positioning that leverages our distinctive attributes rather than trying to copy approaches that succeeded elsewhere." We need to make trad-offs.

The Morpho Story started 3 years ago with this gong announcing Morpho's deployment on Compound. We were young, hacking a full month non stop from 7am to 2am everyday in the middle of nowhere in the French country side. Fast forward today, we're going full. Compound is now building on top of Morpho's open infra: → $3m of incentives on @polygonchain → Vault curated by @gauntlet → Interface by @papercliplabs → Compound can focus on growth while tapping into Morpho's network and keep flexibility over market listing and exposure Compound joins a growing list of projects, including @moonwell, @sparkdotfi, Indexcoop, etc, moving onto Morpho's infrastructure to focus on what they do best. Morpho is an open infra for onchain loans.

The Situational Awareness website should be read by any policymakers, NOW. Takes I share: → If we're serious about it, AGI should have its own Manhattan project starting NOW run by a country or group of countries/entities that deeply care about democracy, freedom, etc. → AGI will come faster than what people think. → It can bring the best like the worst things to humanity. → We don't need to reach it before it has drastic consequences on people’s lives and jobs (it has already started). → There are 2 big dangers: nonalignment & having authoritarian or terrorist groups own it. → At the moment, it can algorithmically improve itself; we'll have a very, very short window to get alignment. → Research and training should be under the highest security standards to prevent leaks. → The 1st country or group to reach AGI will decide the course of humanity. → Hence, it’s a matter of the highest security defense topic. → AGI should be placed above the nuclear threat.
