Since I quit the thinking that once I reach x the good life starts I chose little joys. 

After all x might never happen.

And what misery would that be.

I think if we want x, we should let it stay where it is and not give up on it. But let's also enjoy the journey that leads to it. After all, maybe along the way we’ll find something even more valuable than x.
