Obsidian for sure! The linking capabilities are so useful for new idea generation and the plugin ecosystem is unparalleled Their recent release included some notion-esque database features too (Notion has been very unreliable for me lately so I’m fully transitioning out)

Obsidian would be great if you are looking to link ideas between books or throughout one book

Definitely check out Antinet Zettelkasten. Analog notes on index cards is the way to go.
