about blockchain being used for verification

use case: bank calls a customer, customer wants to ensure the call agent actually works at a bank

can blockchain help with this?

When a agent calls a client, he or she can verify his / her identity by sharing his / her public key or digital signature that can be verified via blockchain.

The customer can verify the agent's identity in the blockchain using a program or website using the public key. If the identity is confirmed, the customer can be sure to speak with a real agent.

It can be like this when a bank employee makes a call and the customer realizes that the bank is calling by pressing button 1 or two or whatever, the bank employee's information is confirmed by the bank.

when you say “sharing public key or digital signature” what’s the process 

like would the customer send a message to the agent to be signed via the customers wallet? Like a transaction?

How would that work on the employee side? How would it store on the blockchain? Would it be attestation?
