The Avalanche Foundation has purchased AVAX tokens worth $52 million from the bankrupt Luna Foundation Guard (LFG) led by Do Kwon. In 2022, Kwon established LFG as an intermediary that actively acquired Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, including AVAX, amassing over $10 billion. These assets were intended to create a strategic reserve for the now-defunct algorithmic stablecoin UST. At the time of the transaction, this volume of AVAX was valued at $100 million.
