I love meeting and photographing fellow artists. When working with creatives, I find inspiration in their unique processes. I immerse myself in their world, capturing them as they create, highlighting the passion and dedication that drives their artistry. Izak, a 47-year-old Zimbabwean artist, sculpts using various recycled materials he can get his hands on. When I visited him in November, he was creating with old ropes discarded by fishermen from the nearby port. I wanted to make Izak look like one of his creations, reflecting not just his artistic vision but also why he creates art – as a way to heal from the difficult life and centuries of oppression experienced by him and his family. In the comment section I will add a short video of one of Izak's incredible creations.

Europeans that colonized this beautiful continent, unleashes incomprehensible destruction and horrific atrocities. I don’t know what amount of time and what deeds can help heal the deep wounds ❤️‍🩹🫂
