I did it strict for 2 years back in 2018. Beef, water, salt strict. Best thing I ever did. Still meat-based to this day. Call my diet dirty carnivore.

My personal onboarding of friends tells a pretty clear story. - one joined for /sports-bets to bet on Football Games Last Summer - one joined for $degen /degen to stay up to date - one joined also for $degen & I found out they kept looking into /memes /books for a while - @cornelia has become very active in /higher /higher-athletics None of them care about the main feed. That‘s just random stuff. I assume crypto Folks want to read more about tokens, crypto news, DeFi, crypto x ai. (At least I & my crypto groups on WhatsApp & TG would want that - nb looks for a new niche Internet Forum initially) Why is there no good crypto Channel/community here on farcaster? That‘s the main question for me. I‘ve seen it‘s very hard to grow your own channel and to keep it non-spammy. Hence, doesn’t make sense to put in the work as a normal new User but it would make sense for Farcaster to do it, to seed it, to Feature it, to either mod it or ask for community Volunteers or pay something for it. cc @woj.eth

I like to help out in different art-related channels with mod work. Another unsolved problem is owners abandoning the app, but their channels still actively used by a community, but then unable to grow further without a mod in place to help out.

You‘re right: prev approach with 100s of channels is bad - fragmenting the few users. But it’s literally so close to being a high-value-add for farcaster and I can’t believe they didn’t invest in modding a select few high quality channels (which get too big/spammed, lose value) - that would be the main go-to-channels here & be attractive for 24/7 Users as well as weekly lurkers. Additionally Niche (3rd Party) Channels can grow Daily retention or become a Main factor to Login as we‘ve seen with token Communities like /degen or /higher. Fwiw I have been logging in here for channels, never for the Mail Feed & random notifications. Miniapps are a factor too now. https://warpcast.com/juli/0x0c58af06

Fundamentally farcaster problems = web3 problems. Trust me I know how sticky these problems are. So what if you dream beyond web3? Think of education. This is a higher IQ social network. Can you get universities to use it and share information? Can students create groups within it and show off their digital diploma, or passing of a class/ test?

The other day I had a discussion with another user on a group chat about feeling that Warpcast is dying. I'm not sure what's the situation, to be honest, as I only come here to have fun and learn from people. Then, the discussion shifted to saying that they feel this way because they don't earn more money here from tips. Also, that they don't get any more feedback from people as they did in the past. While it is true that it has become really random when you get feedback (likes, replies, or recasts) the truth is that in general, when you jump into a conversation you usually get feedback from the creator of the cast, and if you have some followers, in general, people might give you a like or even comment. I think this feeling of being dead comes from wrong expectations about the platform: they came for the money using tips, the tips are less and less effective, so people leave. Which is normal and fair. However, is this good in the medium short term for Warpcast?
