I can’t put into words how much of a turn-off it is for someone to be smart and engaging and then spiritually vapid. What a waste of potential! I really wish our culture here in the West “in this day and age” valued spirituality more than intellectuality. We can reason, yes. But more importantly we have consciousness! We can lead not with just primal instinct, biology and **mind**, but consciousness and heart! What a gift! And it’s being wasted, I swear. 🥹

Everybody has a spiritual dimension, but we all find out in our own way and time. Someone might have it and not be interested or willing to share it. Some people find spirituality in their work and intellect but are not aware of it (yet), not be able to verbalise it or just be shy about it. Most people from past generations didn't talk about much at all besides mundane matters, because they took up the entirety of their days and mental space.
