ITAP of a white-tailed kite Grasslands and savannas are the perfect places to fly a kite and that's exactly where you will find the White-tailed Kite… flying as if it were attached to a kite string. With its body turned toward the wind and wings gently flapping, it hovers above the ground, a behavior that’s so distinctive it’s become known as kiting. White-tailed kites are extremely rare in Florida, as there are very few breeding pairs in the entire state. Finding and photographing these awesome birds was a real treat.

I was so lucky to happen upon these ultra rare birds in Florida! The adults were teaching their young how to feed while flying through the air. One of the most amazing days ever for me
