Media: iPhone 16 Pro will get an NPU more powerful than in Apple M4 and Snapdragon X Elite Gizmochina portal claims that the neural processor inside the Pro versions of the new line of iPhones could get computing speeds of more than 45 TOPS (trillion operations per second). This means that the NPU in Apple's smartphones will leave behind Qualcomm's solutions and will even be more powerful than a similar unit in the iPad Pro 2024. For comparison, Apple's current flagship NPU has 36 TOPS, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has a modest 15 TOPS. If the difference with the current generation of iPhones isn't too much of a difference, then the poor Snap has completely faded. Although, given the release of the Snapdragon X Elite, Qualcomm will be able to offer something competitive in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Most likely, the company, like last time, will announce the novelty in October.
