Apple has recognised a two-year lag in the AI industry

Apple's internal research shows that ChatGPT is 25 per cent more accurate than Siri and can answer more questions,’ writes Mark Gurman. According to him, there's a perception within the company that Apple Intelligence is at least two years behind competitors' solutions.

Despite this, Gurman believes the company can quickly level the gap, given the similar situation with the Maps app. He must be referring to the US domestic market, as outside of it, apps from local developers are much more capable.
