Apple will improve battery maintainability in iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max

In future iPhones, Apple will use a new battery fixing technology. Now it is available only in the base iPhone 16 and 16 Plus.

The battery on the younger models of the line is attached to a special adhesive, which loosens its grip if you apply an electric current to it. If you apply current to the tab on the battery and the ground screw at the charging port for a minute, the battery will detach itself. This is why batteries are firstly held firmly and secondly easily replaceable.

One tiny problem, you still have a slab of glass in the way. And until Appple allows people to buy parts themselves (hopefully that never happens), this literally means nothing.
