Maps like this seem counterproductive to their cause. If someone's main exposure to the phrase "American occupation" is things like this, and then they visit Seoul and see how great it is, why would they not conclude that "American occupation" is great and they should help more of the world become America-occupied?

I think like any new idea,  ie. calling stuff “America-occupied”, people get amped about the meme and want to spread it

In the long tail you end up with poorly thought through implementations of the idea that aren’t worth attacking/defending

In this case the implementation is so bad it’s counterproductive
