As I grow older, I realize how much my youth shaped my worldview and how it is increasingly becoming difficult to change or form anew 

I find myself fused (often irrationally) to them in different ways, esp when it comes to ideas / rituals that are close to who I am

I am surprised to find myself not disliking that

Why do you think it is that you find it difficult to critically look at the beliefs from your youth?

I agree it takes time to shift - to actually see the change - but is it easy for you to realize that some of those beliefs are BS?
