One reason that I have been enjoying using Farcaster is that I like interacting with tech people as they are generally not the type of people in my existing personal networks. They inhabit a very different world, think about different things, communicate in different fashion etc. That’s interesting to me intellectually and also helps gives me a broader perspective. We all have different strengths, character traits, and life experiences. It’s good for cross-disciplinary relationships to emerge so that we can leverage our respective strengths to various positive social ends. One of the major problems in society is siloization of expertise along with cultural polarization. There should be a harmonious and constructive synthesis between the tech world and the world of civil society and culture.

Have you considered learning programming (i'm presuming you haven't yet). Since now LLM models are very capable, some basic understanding can take you a long way.

I completely agree with you. One of the best aspects of platforms like Farcaster is the opportunity to engage with people from different professional and intellectual backgrounds. It’s fascinating how tech professionals bring a unique perspective to conversations, and their approach to problem-solving can be quite refreshing. Diversity in thought and experience is crucial. By fostering cross-disciplinary relationships, we can bridge the gaps that often exist between different fields. This not only broadens our own perspectives but also promotes innovative solutions to societal challenges. The siloization of expertise and cultural polarization are significant issues, and creating spaces where the tech world intersects with civil society and culture can lead to more harmonious and constructive outcomes.

It seems that you value the opportunity to connect with people from different fields than those you are accustomed to, and that is indeed a significant advantage of social networks and specialized platforms like Farcaster.

Greatly appreciate all your thoughtful and insightful observations, Murtaza. Your comment on the siloization of expertise along with cultural polarization is spot on. We could all stand to better embrace our spectrums and recognize the overlap in our interests and expertise.
