I’m going to teach myself the Cyrillic alphabet so I can get around better when I’m Ukraine in future and other Slavic countries. Should only take a day or two.

good idea!  i see a lot of recognizable words just by knowing the sounds the alphabet makes. eg. @irinaliakh patch.  you can try to decipher that one as an exercise 🤪

ya. i'm a little rusty but a while ago a traded a belorussian english lessons and she made sure i learned the alphabet (i didn't feel like getting into the whole language, as i was learning german too)

Nice. How’d German go? Idk if I have the bandwidth to fully learn Russian or Ukrainian but the alphabet seems important. Duolingo is actually good for that

germans and english are germanic language homies so it's not really that bad although there are weird sentence structures and gendered stuff and conjugated verbs and cases and unfamiliar pronunciation sounds but i like it.
