A week after not knowing what DEGEN was and never having posted on Warpcast, today I claimed my first season of “tips.” Thank you for everyone who welcomed me and shared tips. This is a novel type of interaction on social media that has been built into the platform and I believe it serves a positive role in creating “thicker” connections between users. This is important for maintaining a positive platform culture that is resilient and doesn’t devolve into open conflict like some others. I am someone with a reasonable degree of familiarity with crypto and was able to figure out how to claim the tips after about half an hour of playing around with it. I believe the learning curve may still be a little high for a newly onboarded user not previously familiar with MetaMask, Ethereum, linking wallets and similar concepts. Having read up a bit I see that the integration is new and I’m confident the developers will take more steps to create a seamless experience for new users in a future mass onboarding.

Also definitely be careful of phishing emails / websites that might pretend to be a place to claim tips. :)

Funny you say that I almost got phished by the same fake MetaMask email that @dwr.eth posted about!

word to the wise never interface with the chain via email for anything. if it’s important, you’ll see it elsewhere. congrats on your claim, wonderful to have you here!

good idea to put metamask in one browser profile and do web browsing in another. makes signing with wallet more deliberate

I deff recommend checking out the link in @walletguard's bio. Solid security stuff and if you add the extension, it simulates your transaction before you get to the actual signing on your metamask! *just an added layer of protection, absolutely still need to learn the details
