I have a contrarian take on Fukuyama is that he was actually proven right about everything. It’s not that liberalism was universalized (which to be fair he did say sometimes in a confusing fashion) but his book argued that it actually contained the seeds of its own likely demise. The End of History referred to a Hegelian argument that it was the system that accorded the most respect to the individual and couldn’t be improved upon on that score.

I like your take. Capitalism is very intertwined with liberal democracies at this point. I believe we are in late stage capitalism currently.
