Social media has always "preferred" a certain look, and for a long time, it made me overly critical of my appearance. Now, when I look back at my photos, I realize there was never anything wrong with me.

There will always be people who try to make you doubt yourself over small things. Don’t give them that power.

Oh girl, DO NOT set your standards to what you think is “popular opinion.” Often times popular opinion is trash. You are beautiful, sexy, feminine, radiant! Those characteristics come from the inside and show on the outside.

Secondly, the things you say are valid and true, but it takes time to break free from popular opinion, and things that you hear online, those little comments or nicknames maybe hurtful and can bring you down. Of course the goal is to radiate confidence and self love no matter what

and sometimes insecurities are just unfounded and based on your wrong perception of the world - which was affected by online trends in the first place

So true! Confidence doesn’t come easily. The most genuinely confident people I’ve met have gone through a lot of suffering, but were able to overcome their insecurities and now able to walk with their head held high in this world. Insecurities never go away, but we work to understand and accept them or work on them to make ourselves better people.
