CONSPIRACY TIME Base is the leading L2. Jesse Pollak is no. 1 builder of Base. Jesse has announced that Base will not release a token. I believe mega-cap projects always say they would not release a token until TGE is very close. Eigenlayer team had also made similar announcement that they would not be releasing a token. The reluctance to talk about token is due to possibility of law suit by regulators. My understanding is $BASE will have a token. The token is an important part of decentralisation of the network. Users will start using other L2’s if the network is not decentralised.
