what is happening society and why is everyone experiencing an existential crisis? 

it seems like the last couple of years has been fraught with tension after tension

the catholic church scandal, the me too movement, blm, stop asian hate, trump, trans politics etc etc 

but why?

actively working on a thesis about how the internet has accelerated cultural globalization leading to context collapse, and the result is that interpersonal meaning is dead in the water

we don't know each other anymore

we only know everything else

so we fight with facts

instead of connecting with wonder

i'd rather kill the radio and listen to the rain hit.

Reflected further: Metrics are needed to allow comparison of past / future states of connectedness so we can assess whether we’ve improved or not- if connectedness is what we care about ? Or maybe it’s overall happiness? Perhaps that’s too general. Meaning? What’s the opposite of an existential crisis?
