Just ran a quick script to find out who left reviews and qualified. Also distributed the funds through Disperse.app on Base :) Good experiment: 31 unique people left reviews (for a total of 79 reviews)! I find it interesting that giving out free GUARANTEED $ for leaving reviews didn't yield better result than a raffle (where people basically leave reviews in the hopes of a higher payout) Thanks @linda for working on @bountycaster, very useful to reach crypto natives! πŸ™

Interesting indeed. Maybe: Random rewards feel like play. Guaranteed rewards feel like work. And/or random lump sum larger are more instantly useful than small drips over time. Also brain candy. Basically why "no loss lotteries" like @pooltogether work better than trying to get people to save and invest on their own (even without subsidized prize pools)

Yep good take! I'll continue the experiment, maybe the guaranteed reward was too low to be of interest to people πŸ€” Also thinking about sing peanut.to to allow people to claim their reward right after reviewing an app! Perhaps feels more real as I show you the money right away (while with bountycaster you have to trust me I'll distribute the reward)

ah, indeed, the instantaneity might make it more attractive (and if it doesnt change a lot for the first reward, it does for the 2nd and 3rd; once you've felt the "kick" of the first one). You could combine both (I dunno with what tool): instantaneous random payouts: Leave a review, get between 0.1$ (like 97% chance) and 100$ (closer to 3% chance. if 100 reviews are left, You'll have paid about 3$ per review, but ppl get the thrill (if the payouts are instantaneous, though, gotta make sure that people can't see what past rewards were, because if they see recent big wins, might get discouraged). Random instantaneous rewards are basically why we check messaging apps so often: they re addictive (see tristan harris & center for humane tech, or the book "hooked")
