@nic I think licorice is a pretty northern European thing. Very popular in northern Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark (Denmark even has a liquorice liqueur) and the whole of Scandinavia.

Yes, when I’m in the Netherlands I always get licorice (they have really good licorice)

But you have to be careful, sometimes they taste a little bit like soap.
