I did notice a very clear convention of walking on the right on the skywalk (path below the sky train). So it might just be the foreigners at the con that are confused.

It's been driving me crazy, I just started walking down the middle and reacting to whichever way the person coming at me moves, which is also fraught with ambiguity, but at least there's a somewhat stable default state.
