It's interesting that autumn feels like a new beginning — ideas and energy for new projects. Something like a fresh start in the last third of the year. 
At least for me.

At least part of what makes New Year’s resolutions dumb is that you make them in the dead of fucking winter when you should be hibernating.

The equinoxes, not the solstices, are the time to make your resolutions.
