I’ve always admired my dad’s high-wonder. Almost 80 now, still excited to learn and experience everything. He’s recently nerding out on HAM radio and strung a big antenna between redwoods in his backyard.

ADHD

I learned the best hack from my undiagnosed but definitely adhd mom the other day: 

I had walked into to the kitchen to get something, and of course forgot what I had come for. 

She told me to “use my hands”. 

Like just reach out and pretend to grab something. It worked! My hands knew what they were supposed to pick up, I just had to activate them so that they could remind my brain what it was.

And my own, too often taken for granted
