All creators are told to be authentic.

But nobody can know what is real online anymore. Even the “authentic” content is usually staged (ex: emotional reaction vids with perfect lighting). 

Seems like embracing fiction or retreating to IRL are the only options?

The theory is that Facebook is investing in open source AI as a compliment to their business. 

What that misses is that their business is not only about showing people content, but also about enabling people to create content for others to consume. Replacement that side of the equation, and it becomes nothing but a pure attention farming play. Maybe profitable, but also devoid of soul.
