Much of the pitfalls of the USSR were not really due to their ‘communistic’ culture but rather the influence of imperialist Western European judeo-christian values but also mixed with MENA region and Eastern Orthodoxy. They’re famously always a few decades behind copy pastaing American/Euro trends in Russia…
