I'm on board with invasive species not being inherently bad, e.g. zebra mussels, and agree there's a lot of dogma in science.

That aside, I don't get what this paper is trying to say. Sure, some things are cyclical and life is resilient. That doesn't mean ecological problems can't cause harm.

I hadn’t read the full thing before, so you’re comment made me curious. The full thing is a good read, and it    most definitely isn’t saying that ecological problems can’t cause harm.

I think rather it’s saying that nature doesn’t care what interpretations we place on ecological outcomes, good or bad. Reality is inescapable, so we should get better at understanding it.

I think it's fair to say the article at least diminishes the negative impact we can have on our ecosystem.

It's main point seems to be "wait long enough and things will rebound" as if that matters to those around today.
