IPFS is completely decentralized, as long as the dev keeps paying their pinata subscription.....no shade to pinata I love y'all but this is just hilarious to me

the storage itself is not decentralized, content addressing is (in IPFS) you can store files on your computer, on a storage provider, on your VPS, anywhere really the "decentralized" part is that you upload a file once, get an immutable file hash, and then you can pull/reupload it anywhere else. You can't do this with HTTP or any other web protocols (AFAIK)

You can always pin your content across multiple nodes as well, including your computer! We’re a firm believer that decentralization happens when people run their own software. With IPFS you can truly take your ball and go home if you want to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
