recently i went back to "monk mode", where i persistently shut off every potential distraction for a while recipe: kill notifications, leave phone in another room, turn on dnd, lock the door, put on headphones with ANC, and play ambient bg tunes after a few sessions, healthy doses of productivity have been restored

this typically lasts 4–6 hrs and helps me to get in and out of the flow state more easily, and it's aimed at tackling structured, pre-planned work that has been somewhat clearly defined
